This is a binding agreement between STANDCON and the Participant of STANDCON. By participating in STANDCON, you agree to all the terms and conditions stated in this webpage. In the event of any disagreement with the terms and conditions, the Participant will not be able to participate in STANDCON.
BEFORE PARTICIPATING IN THE EVENT, PLEASE READ CAREFULLY THE FOLLOWING TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE OF STANDCON. ONCE YOU REGISTER FOR THE EVENT, YOU AGREE THAT YOU ACCEPT FULLY AND WITHOUT ANY RESERVATION THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE CONTAINED HEREIN AND UNDERTAKE TO COMPLY WITH THEM.
Registration to participate in STANDCON is restricted to individuals who are 18 years of age or older or those who possess legal parental or guardian consent and are fully able and competent to enter into the terms, conditions, obligations, and representations herein. By registering to participate in STANDCON, you hereby acknowledge that you meet one of the criteria mentioned above and STANDCON is not responsible for any use by Participants who do not meet the above criteria.
IN THE EVENT OF ANY DISAGREEMENT WITH THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE, THE PARTICIPANT WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE EVENT.
STANDCON may suspend the event at any time without notice. STANDCON reserves the right to make modifications and updates to the event rules, its layout, content and representation. These Terms and Conditions of Use can be updated at any time without prior notice. Hence, Participants must read this webpage carefully every time before they register as a participant.
The entire content of STANDCON, which include for example challenges, graphics, source code, information and in general, archives of every kind is subjected to copyright which belongs exclusively to STANDCON or its content suppliers.
Is expressly prohibited any copying, reproduction, downloading, modification, distribution, sale, transfer or whatsoever in any manner, communication or dissemination of any other use of the content of STANDCON in any manner or means, for commercial or other purposes whatsoever, in part or in summary form, without prior written consent from STANDCON.
Nothing contained in STANDCON should be construed as granting, by implication, estoppel, or otherwise, any licence or right to use any STANDCON's Intellectual Property without the prior written permission of STANDCON.
Any goodwill generated from the user of any STANDCON's Intellectual Property shall inure to STANDCON's benefit. STANDCON reserves the right to seek all remedies available for any violation of these terms and conditions.
Any other trademarks, badges, product names, company names, graphics and logos registered trademarks and intellectual property rights of third parties that appear during the event period of STANDCON are the property of their respective owners and within their sphere of responsibility.
IMPORTANT
Users are liable for any expenses (any cost caused by the behaviour of the Participant and which would otherwise not occur) or damages they may incur through inappropriate use of non-compliance with these terms and conditions of use.
The content of STANDCON is made available as it stands and STANDCON does not provide any guarantee, explicitly or not, on the technical quality, soundness, timeliness, commercial potential, appropriateness of its content related to every use, application or purpose.
STANDCON does not guarantee that the webpages, services, options and contents will be provided without interruption, errors, or that every single error will be corrected and that all the questions submitted will be answered.
STANDCON does not guarantee that STANDCON or any other associated website or server, through which the content is made available to the Participants, are provided without any “virus” or harmful components. The Participant's entry to the “network” shall be performed under his own responsibility.
Anything provided to the Participant through our STANDCON event shall not be regarded in any way, directly or indirectly, as stimulation, advice or instigation to the commitment of any unlawful action. All publications or services provided have a clear educational purpose, such as upgrading the Participant's skills in Capture-The-Flag (CTF). Every Participant acts based upon his own private will and ethics being the sole responsible for his actions.
STANDCON bears no responsibility for any misuse and/or inappropriate use of the services of STANDCON by the Participant. For any damages caused, to STANDCON, to the network, to another Participant, or to any third Party, the sole responsibility will be on the Participant who carried out the above mentioned actions.
STANDCON under no circumstances, including the case of negligence, shall be held responsible for any kind of damage, which the Participant may suffer given that they access on their own initiative.
STANDCON may contain links to other websites that are not administered by STANDCON. STANDCON hereby declares that we have no control over such websites which are subject to their own corresponding terms of use, and is not responsible for their content and under no circumstances it gives rise to obligations of any kind for anyone. Any links featured in STANDCON are strictly for informational and references purposes only.
The placing of these links does not indicate approval or acceptance of the content of the corresponding websites by STANDCON. Third Party websites that may be reached through our websites are not subject to the principles laid down herein. STANDCON does not accept any responsibility or liability, does not guarantee their availability and bears no responsibility for any of their content and services, nor for their protection of confidentiality practises.
Participant will make use of such links on his own responsibility and accord and for any problems that may arise during the visit or the user of these websites, the Participant should address the corresponding website.
The handling and the protection of the Participant's personal data of STANDCON is subject to the terms of this Agreement, as well as to the application provisions of Singapore, and international laws regarding the protection against the processing of personal data, as applicable at any given time.
Any possible future arrangement will be subject to this Agreement. In any case, STANDCON maintains the right to re-adapt the requirements for protection of personal data, always in accordance with the existing legislative framework.
Therefore, these conditions of protection of personal data can be reviewed and updated at any moment without prior notice. The Participants of STANDCON are kindly asked to check at regular intervals the terms and conditions of any changes, given that the continuous use of STANDCON confers a presumption that the Participant has read, understood and accepted all the possible modifications on it.
STANDCON collects personal data of Participants, only if they provide them intentionally and with a view of acquiring an account code and a password in order to participate in the event.
Personal data is considered the information that can be used to identify a person, to contact them and/or to obtain further information about them.
STANDCON will not provide any personal information for sale, or transmit, or make public personal information of the Participants to third parties, which are not connected to us, without the consent of the Participant, with the exception of the implementation of legal impositions and only to the competent authorities.
STANDCON may be sharing personal information of Participants to other Participants for the purpose of team pairing.
STANDCON may use Participants' personal information for profiling purposes and this information may be shared to third parties. By registering their interest in STANDCON, Participants give their consent to STANDCON in profiling them and sharing their personal information with the relevant third parties.
STANDCON may process part of all of the information provided by Participants for statistical purposes and/or in order to improve its services and information.

STANDCON may collect information on the identification of Participants of STANDCON, using corresponding technology, like cookies and/or by monitoring the Internet Protocol addresses (IP). In the case that the User does not wish the use of cookies, they can exclude their creation by adjusting the arrangement of their browser.
It is possible that STANDCON may contain links to other websites, which are under the responsibility of third parties (persons or legal entities). Under no circumstances should STANDCON be responsible for the data protection, which the third parties adopt and apply.
Participants' release, publication, exhibition or reproduction may be used for news, web casts, promotional purposes, telecasts, advertising, inclusion on websites, social media, or any other purpose by STANDCON and its relevant third parties.
During the course of physical events of STANDCON (e.g. the Finals), participants are required to provide viewing access of their screens to the STANDCON. Images, photos and/or videos taken during STANDCON including participants' appearances may be used for news, web casts, promotional purposes, telecasts, advertising, inclusion on websites, social media, or any other purpose by STANDCON and shared to related third parties.
It is explicitly agreed hereby that in case of an action/application or claim, administrative, accounting or judicial, being brought against our event deriving from actions committed by the Participant, the Participant undertakes on the one hand to intervene to the legal procedure, assuming their responsibility, and on the other hand to compensate STANDCON, the operators, the suppliers of our event in case they are obliged to compensate or pay any other expenditure.
Should the Participant be awarded any prize during the course of the event, the monetary prize will be given at the sole discretion of STANDCON. STANDCON will pay in the original currency of Singapore Dollars (SGD) and the payee's account should belong to the Participant or the Guardian of the Participant, if the Participant is below 18 years old.
STANDCON will not be responsible for any collaborated events with any partner(s) as they are managing the event on their own.
STANDCON will not bear the consequences of their actions should there be any.
The above terms and conditions of use of STANDCON as well as any modifications or changes are governed by the applicable laws. Any provision of the terms mentioned above which is contrary to the legislative framework or has been outdated, will be assumed as inoperative automatically and it shall be removed from the present document without affecting the force of the remaining terms.
This document constitutes a comprehensive Agreement between STANDCON and the Participants and it commits only them. No modification will be taken under consideration and will be regarded as part of it unless written and signed by STANDCON.
Hereby it is explicitly agreed that the disputes which may arise from the implementation of present terms and in general from STANDCON in case of no amicable solution, are governed by the Singapore Law and fall within the jurisdiction of the Courts of Singapore.
Notices, requests, permissions, waivers, and other communications required or permitted hereunder shall be in writing and shall be mailed by registered or certified mail, sent by electronic mail or otherwise delivered by hand.
