Share your cybersecurity project at STANDCON 2026! We're now accepting student submissions for our Student Project Corner showcase.

STANDCON 2026 is opening a dedicated Project Corner for undergraduates, postgraduates, and student teams from Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs). This is your chance to showcase academic research, capstone projects, or personal builds to the wider cybersecurity community — and get noticed by industry professionals, mentors, and potential employers.

Whether it's a final-year project, a research paper turned into a working tool, or something you built for fun in your dorm room at 2am, we want to see it.

Focus Areas

We're accepting student projects in areas including (but not limited to):

▸Security tools & automation scripts
▸Capture-the-Flag (CTF) challenges or writeups
▸AI/ML applications in cybersecurity
▸IoT & hardware security projects
▸Web/app/network security research
▸Malware analysis or reverse engineering projects
▸Privacy-enhancing technologies
▸Novel academic research with practical security applications

Eligibility

▸Open to currently enrolled students (diploma, undergraduate, or postgraduate) at any IHL
▸Individual or team submissions (max 3 members per team)
▸Projects can be coursework-derived, FYP/capstone-based, or independent

What To Submit

▸A short project abstract (200–400 words)
▸Demo video, GitHub repo, or working prototype (if available)
▸Names, IHL affiliation, biography and email address

Submission Requirements

▸Projects submitted must not be commercial products.
▸Submit the respective details onto the google form above:
—Project title
—Project description (max 400 words)
—Project members (max 3 members)
—Member's name
—Member's school/organisation
—Member's email
—Member's short biography (max 100 words)
—Link to socials (if available)
—Link to project code with project setup and usage instructions (e.g. GitHub)
—Project deck (optional)

Relevance
—A project that addresses a new or emerging cybersecurity threat.
—A project that applies cybersecurity principles to a new or innovative application.
—A project that demonstrates the use of cybersecurity technologies to solve a real-world problem.
Innovation
—A project that proposes a new approach to cybersecurity that has not been previously implemented.
—A project that improves upon an existing cybersecurity solution.
—A project that demonstrates the use of new or emerging technologies to improve cybersecurity.
Technical Merit
—A project that is well-designed and implemented.
—A project that is free of errors or vulnerabilities.
Communication
—A project that is well-documented and easy to understand.
—A project that is presented in a clear and concise manner.
—A project that is original and interesting.
